Sustainable Livestock Media Project
Sustainable Livestock Media Project
We amplify the voice of livestock farmers on best agro-ecological practices, salient livestock issues and give a voice to vulnerable groups within the livestock sector in Africa. We bridge the information gap that exists between livestock stakeholders, farmers, enthusiasts and the general public.
We report under-reported Issues and we fight mis/disinformation around sustainable livestock practices.
How are we implementing this project?
We co-launched an online platform Livestocktrend.com and since inception, we have been reporting livestock news stories on Livestocktrend.com. We share the news link widely across all social media and via email newsletters to reach larger audiences.
We disseminate information on happenings, challenges, innovations, success stories and latest trend in livestock husbandry, product processing, events, welfare, technology, policy, research and other livestock issues.
Additionally we broadcast Livestock Programs Weekly On YouTube:
Program 1: My-Livestock-Story Series
On #My-Livestock-Story Series, we document and broadcast interviews of Livestock farmers (including female farmers, pastoralists etc.). We air their beginnings, challenges, success stories, innovations, opinion and demands from policy makers, governments & global community. Etc.
We believe this will encourage youth participation & gender inclusion and inform right policy formulation.
Program 2 – One-on-One with Livestock Stakeholders
On this program we bridge the gap between farmers and key livestock stakeholders. We air the interviews of key livestock policy makers, heads of livestock Ministries, Departments, Agencies, Associations, NGOs, Institutes, Political representatives etc.
As they share information on available support and benefits of their respective positions/offices, to Livestock farmers.
Program 3 – Aerial View of Livestock farms
On this program, we showcase 60 – 90 seconds Aerial Drone View/Video of livestock farms in Nigeria & Africa. We help our audience and the global community; visually appreciate livestock farms and farmers’ effort during food production in Africa. We believe that, if the true state of livestock farms in Africa is seen, it will serve as valuable data and attract more support/funding for livestock development in Africa.
