Our Mission
⚪ To encourage ecological friendly livestock agricultural practices
⚪ To proliferate better and affordable Animal Sourced Food (ASF)
⚪ To boost rural-urban livelihood through livestock by creating more base-of-pyramid (BoP) businesses across livestock value chain to enhance gender equality and support vulnerable groups.
⚪ To support livestock farmers, most especially smallholders, with relevant technologies and encourage young people and the vulnerable in livestock farming in its simplest form
⚪ To bridge the gap between policy makers, research institutions (especially academic institutions) and practicing livestock farmers and the farming business.
⚪ To advocate and engage all livestock value chain actors to prioritize animal welfare.
Teens For Sustainable Livestock (T4SL) Project
We are raising Sustainable Livestock Champions through our Catch-Them-Young initiative. This project enhances the capacity of the girl child and the teenage boys in the rural and/or urban suburbs in Africa. The impact of this project directly contributes to Goal 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Breed and Swap Initiative (Bre-Si)
We are committed to producing 10,000 Crossbred Dairy Cows by 2027 to increase local milk production in Nigeria. While local breeds yield 3 liters of milk daily, exotic breeds produce up to 40 liters. With Bre-Si initiative we are addressing farmers’ concerns about past failed breed improvement programs, while enhancing dairy productivity nationwide.
Sustainable Livestock Media Project
We amplify the voice of livestock farmers on best agro-ecological practices, salient livestock issues and give a voice to vulnerable groups within the livestock sector in Africa. We bridge the information gap that exists between livestock stakeholders, farmers, enthusiasts and the general public.
We report under-reported Issues and we fight mis/disinformation around sustainable livestock practices.
